Who we are

This policy explains how Perch ("we", "us", "our") handles your personal data when you use our website at percheveryday.co.uk, visit one of our four restaurants, book with us, or contact us. We are the data controller. Our registered office and contact details are at the bottom of this page.

The data we collect

We collect personal data only when you give it to us, or when it's automatically captured to run the website. Specifically:

• Contact & enquiry forms: your name, email address, phone number, and any details you choose to share (event date, party size, message).
• Newsletter sign-up: your email address (and optionally first name).
• Gift card purchases: your name, email, billing address (via our payment processor); the recipient's name and email (if buying as a gift).
• Restaurant bookings: handled by SevenRooms, see "Third parties" below.
• Automatically collected: IP address (for spam protection), basic device/browser info, pages visited. We do not run analytics or behavioural tracking on this site at present.

Why we collect it (legal basis)

• To respond to your enquiry, legal basis: legitimate interests (responding to a request you made) and, where applicable, steps before entering a contract.
• To send you marketing emails (newsletter only), legal basis: your explicit consent. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.
• To fulfil bookings and orders, legal basis: performance of a contract.
• To protect the website from abuse (spam, fraud), legal basis: legitimate interests in keeping the service running.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate the website. Each receives only the data needed for their function:

• Sanity, our content management system. Stores form submissions while we work them. Data hosted in the EU.
• Resend, sends transactional and newsletter emails on our behalf.
• Cloudflare, hosts and protects this website (CDN, security, spam filtering). May briefly process IP addresses.
• Mollie, processes gift card payments. Handles card data directly (we never see your card number).
• Leat, manages our loyalty programme and gift card issuance.
• SevenRooms, handles restaurant reservations. They have their own privacy policy, available at their website.
• StoreKit, handles click-and-collect orders.

We never sell your data to anyone. We never share it with advertisers or marketing networks beyond what you've explicitly consented to.

How long we keep it

• Enquiry submissions: up to 24 months after your last contact with us, then deleted.
• Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe. We periodically clean inactive addresses after 24 months of no opens.
• Gift card & transaction records: 6 years (required for UK tax purposes).
• Server logs: 30 days, then automatically purged.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Have it corrected if it's wrong
• Have it erased ("the right to be forgotten"), subject to legal retention obligations
• Object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Withdraw consent for marketing at any time
• Receive your data in a portable format
• Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you think we've handled your data badly

Cookies & tracking

This site uses a minimal number of cookies, essential ones for the site to function, and Turnstile to protect forms from spam. We don't run analytics, behavioural tracking, or advertising cookies. Full detail at our Cookies Policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for two weeks before taking effect.
