Accessibility statement

How we aim to make percheveryday.co.uk usable for everyone. Last updated: 31 May 2026.

Our aim

Perch Everyday is committed to making this website as accessible as we reasonably can. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA for substantially all content. This means the site should be usable with a keyboard, with a screen reader, and at the text sizes most browsers offer.

What we've done

  • All interactive controls (links, buttons, menus, modals) are reachable by keyboard.
  • Focus styles are visible on every interactive element.
  • Pages have a meaningful page title and a single <h1>.
  • Images that convey information have descriptive alt text; decorative images have empty alt="".
  • Form fields have labels associated programmatically. Error messages are announced and visible.
  • Colour contrast meets WCAG AA for body text. The brand navy on buttermilk reads at > 7:1.
  • Pages reflow at zoom and on narrow viewports without horizontal scroll.
  • Any embedded video or audio content has a text alternative or descriptive context.

Known issues

  • Third-party embeds. Some content is delivered by third parties, SevenRooms booking widget, StoreKit click & collect, Leat gift cards. We can't fully guarantee the accessibility of code we don't write. If you hit a barrier inside one of these widgets, tell us and we'll work with the supplier.
  • Decorative animation. A small amount of the brand styling uses CSS animation (subtle marquees). These respect prefers-reduced-motion in your operating system settings, turn that on and they hold still.
  • Allergen filter (when enabled). The allergen filter is a complex interactive component. We test it manually with VoiceOver and TalkBack on each release.

Help us improve

If you find content you can't access, please email hello@perch.team with the page URL and what went wrong. We aim to respond within two working days and to fix accessibility issues within one calendar month where the work is within our control.

Alternative ways to reach us

If the website isn't working for you, you can also book a table or ask a question by phone using the number listed on each Perch's page, or by visiting any of our four sites in person.

How this site was tested

Pages are checked with the axe DevTools browser extension and with manual screen-reader passes (VoiceOver on macOS / iOS, TalkBack on Android). Keyboard-only testing happens on the homepage, every venue page, the menus pages, the booking modal, and every form.

Enforcement

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers must make reasonable adjustments for disabled users. If you believe a reasonable adjustment hasn't been made, please contact us first so we can put it right. If we don't, the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) can provide advice.
